Starting this Tuesday, April 14, 2026, jeepney drivers can avail a ₱10.00 discount per liter of petroleum products as part of a national government aid initiative.
As per the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., 52 gasoline stations will be contracted by the government to provide this ₱10.00 per liter discount to public utility vehicle drivers and operators.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin confirms that signage will be installed at the participating gasoline stations.
Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez stated that the government's subsidy equates to nearly 150 liters of diesel per driver per week, allowing them to save up to P1,500.
"It's our responsibility at the DOTr and LTFRB to provide a list of legitimate operators or drivers when it comes to our public vehicles. This program is crucial because it ensures the continuous service of our jeepneys and UV Express vehicles," says Lopez.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin also mentioned that 52 gas stations in Metro Manila are slated to join the program today.
This fuel price cut for PUV drivers is in addition to the Net Service Contracting Program of the government, which launches tomorrow, April 15, 2026. In this program, the government will contract public vehicles that traverse routes passing by elevated public trains.
"You'll see that our President truly values our public vehicles, our drivers, our operators, as well as our commuters that we can say are directly affected by the rising oil prices," Lopez adds.
Eligible PUV drivers with qualified units may visit participating gasoline stations and provide their plate number for verification.
Once verified through the Landbank App, the cashier will check the available balance of the PUV unit's 150-liter subsidy to load the diesel, which will then be paid by the driver.
