Councilor Marie Marcelino of Barangay Ususan, Taguig City, was sworn in as the new president of the League of Barangay on July 4, 2025.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano officiated Marcelino's oath-taking ceremony, which was concurrent with the swearing-in of the new barangay captains: Captain Michael Arcilla of Barangay Pembo, Captain Allan Cruz of Barangay Rizal, Captain Lysandre Vertulfo of Barangay Fort Bonifacio, and Captain Ricardo Jordan of Barangay North Signal.
Also in attendance at the swearing-in were Taguig City Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, Congressman Ricardo "Ading" Cruz, Jr., Congressman Jorge Daniel Bocobo, Interior and Local Government Director Gemma Demdam Dancil, and Barangay Affairs Office Head Evelyn Tan Arago.
Marcelino had previously served as vice president of the League of Barangay, with Bocobo as the former president.
"I look forward to your strength and loyalty during your term serving your barangays and Taguig City. Alongside Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, Cong. Ading Cruz, Cong. Jorge Bocobo, and the entire city council, we support your advocacy and initiatives to deliver transformative, lively, and caring programs for each Taguigeño," Cayetano posted on her social media page.
"We all felt mixed emotions while being sworn in, but gratitude to the Lord God for the blessing to serve and share our skills and abilities with the citizens of Taguig towards the Transformative Lively and Caring City in action, not words," Marcelino posted on her social media page.
