One of the actions considered was the establishment of a green lane to speed up the registration of locally produced food, medical devices, and even cosmetics.

The officials also discussed simplifying the approval of clinical trials, improving food-labeling standards, and providing full support to the Balik Scientist Program.

FDA Director General Samuel Zacate promised a balance between efficiency and public health protection.

"The FDA is dedicated to streamlining regulatory processes to help local technologies reach the market faster without compromising the safety, efficacy, and quality of health products," said Zacate.

DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr. believes the role in developing an excellent health technology ecosystem is critical.
