Four students from Taguig City received cash awards and recognition at the 2024 National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities.
The competition was held at the Bayview Park Hotel Manila from April 23 to 24, 2024.
Among those from Taguig who brought home honors was Jamal M. Alih of Taguig National High School, who secured first place in the Physical Category.
Similarly, John Emmanuel V. Bayani of Taguig Science High School landed second place in the Intellectual/Learning Category, while Anica Myiel Timogtimog of the same school also clinched second place, but for the Visual Category.
Kyla Lorraine P. Carcido of Western Bicutan National High School took the 18th position in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Category.
The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) spearheaded the award ceremony.
The first-prize winner received a cash prize of P 10,000.
Cash prizes were also given to other positions, along with tokens from the NCDA, Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
The four victorious Taguig high school students will officially represent their city in the upcoming Global IT Challenge for Youth With Disabilities in October.
