Taguig residents aged 12 to 59 who have vision problems and are currently students or working can avail of this service, provided they register in their respective barangays.
Registration takes place at the Barangay Affairs Office or at the Barangay Hall. Participants will then wait for the schedule of Oplan Linaw's visit to their barangay.
The distribution of eyeglasses is limited, so registrants need to be early to the designated schedule of Oplan Linaw in their barangay.
Yesterday, January 29, 2025, Oplan Linaw visited the Holy Family Covered Court, Barangay Bagumbayan. This is the sixth barangay that Oplan Linaw has visited.
The registered Taguig residents were examined using advanced equipment such as the Auto Refractometer (AR) Machine and Refraction Test to determine their eye grades. They were also allowed to choose eyeglass frames. Their prescription glasses will be delivered to them within two to three weeks.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano personally attended the event to check on the condition of the beneficiaries of the free consultation and eyeglasses.
"Our program is excellent because experts will be examining you, that's why we give you prescription glasses with progressive lenses. In addition, if the tests reveal that you have eye conditions that require surgery, that will also be addressed in this program," Cayetano stated.
The schedule of Oplan Linaw can be obtained from the respective barangays in Taguig.
