The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is currently monitoring two potential storms within and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to PAGASA, the clusters of clouds north of Luzon could develop into a low pressure area (LPA) this Friday and possibly evolve into a storm by the end of this week.

Should it develop into a storm, it will be named Julian, which would be the tenth storm to hit the Philippines this year.

The storm will remain north of Luzon, east of Batanes, PAGASA added.

The other LPA is outside the PAR and is approximately 2,750 kilometers east of Central Luzon. There is a low chance of it entering the country as it is expected to move towards the North Pacific Ocean.

Meanwhile, this Friday, September 27, 2024, Palawan and parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy weather with potential rain due to the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ). According to PAGASA, the ITCZ is a line where the air from the northern and southern hemispheres meet, thus a high chance of cloudiness there.

The easterlies, or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean, continues to bring rain to the country.
