The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will now cover eyeglasses for children aged 15 and below.
Listed dependents of PhilHealth members can now consult an optometrist or eye grade specialist each year, with their glasses covered up to an amount of P2,500.
Under PhilHealth Circular No. 2025-0002, the new optometry benefit package valued at P2,500 includes vision assessment, eyeglasses (including frames and lenses), and the follow-up consultation for child patients.
This benefit can be availed if a doctor recommends that the child needs glasses.
This new circular was signed by PhilHealth President Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. on January 15, 2025, and took effect on January 18, 2025, after its publication in newspapers.
