As of 8:00 AM today, the NGCP announced that power supply is thin, and the energy reserves at the power plants in Luzon are low, thus raising:
YELLOW ALERT from 3:01 PM - 4:00 PM and 10:01 PM - 11:00 PM
RED ALERT from 4:01 PM - 10:00 PM.
Nearly 1 million Meralco customers were affected yesterday, May 13, 2026, by the rotational brownouts in Metro Manila, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna.
The red alert status was raised by the NGCP until 1:00 AM earlier today, while the yellow alert was until 2:00 AM.
Rotational brownouts that lasted two to three hours were experienced in various areas serviced by Meralco yesterday until last night.
