The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the driving license of an individual who drove his sports utility vehicle (SUV) against the flow of traffic in the EDSA Busway in Guadalupe, Makati last July.

The SUV driver, identified as Christopher Jude de Vera, 38 years old, was reportedly escorted home by the personnel of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to his condominium in Taguig City.
In a six-page decision of the LTO, it was stated that de Vera must face administrative charges as he disregarded traffic signs when he entered the EDSA Busway, which is exclusively for EDSA Carousel passenger buses, and even met oncoming traffic.
Furthermore, it was also found that de Vera was under the influence of alcohol and had no right to drive under Republic Act 4136.
"His driver's license is ordered revoked and shall be surrendered at the Intelligence and Investigation Division. Failure to surrender his driver's license shall subject any motor vehicle driven by Mr. De Vera to impounding if apprehended and he will be cited for driving without a valid license," stated the LTO in its decision.
De Vera was also fined P2,000 for two traffic violations and required to undergo a road safety seminar.
The video of de Vera went viral last July, with Senator Raffy Tulfo even revealing that three personnel of the DOTr Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) escorted de Vera back to his condominium unit in Taguig, instead of taking him to a police station because he was driving under the influence.
