Taguig City has designated firecracker zones where firecrackers and legal fireworks can be lit by residents to welcome the New Year.

"To keep our families safe during this celebration, the City of Taguig is strictly prohibiting the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics in individual homes and residential areas. This is in accordance with national and local safety regulations (E.O. No. 28, series of 2017)," the City Government of Taguig posted on their social media.
Taguig City Government has set firecracker zones in barangays with open spaces and a clearance or distance of five meters from buildings and establishments.
Fire trucks, ambulances, and medical personnel should also be on standby. Fire extinguishers and BDRRM response teams should also be prepared.
Here are the firecracker zones in District 1:
1. Bambang - Open Basketball Court on Kentucky Street and Mahogany Place 2 Block 3 Lot 2 and 4 San Dimas Street.
2. Hagonoy - Hagonoy Sport Complex (outside Parking Area)
3. Lower Bicutan - Lakeshore Barge (organized event, individuals are not allowed to light firecrackers here)
4. Napindan - Samama (End) Open Area at Purok 5 extension Tabing Ilog, and Purok 5 (in front of Jelly Port)
5. New Lower Bicutan - C6 Road near CDRRM Office
6. San Miguel - Victoria Compound Basketball Court on St. Michael and Open Basketball Court near Barangay Hall
7. Tuktukan - JP Rizal St.
8. Wawa - Barangay Road and Guerrero St.
Here are the firecracker zones in District 2:
1. Central Bicutan - Osano Park
2. Central Signal - Zone 8 cor. Ballecer St. in front of Signal Village National High School
3. Fort Bonifacio - 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City (organized event, individuals are not allowed to light firecrackers here)
4. Katuparan - Open space at Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), 7th Street
5. Pinagsama - McKinley Hill (organized event, individuals are not allowed to light firecrackers here)
6. South Daang Hari - Lakefront
7. Upper Bicutan - in front of Barangay Hall
Meanwhile, the following barangays have no designated firecracker zones:

Under Republic Act No. 7183, the making, selling, distribution, and use of all illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics, especially those that explode, are banned in Taguig.
Those found using or selling these could face penalties.
