Typhoon Kristine is forecasted to make landfall in Northern Luzon this coming Friday, October 25, 2024.
As of this morning, October 21, 2024, the tropical depression had already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), observed 870 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas at 10:00 AM.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Kristine is moving west-southwest at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. It carries winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Signal Number 1 has been raised in the following areas:
• Catanduanes, Masbate including Ticao Island and Burias Island, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Norte and the eastern part of Quezon Province
• Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, Leyte, Biliran, and Southern Leyte
• Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte including Siargao - Bucas Grande Group
PAGASA expects Typhoon Kristine to become a tropical storm by this afternoon and possibly reach the severe tropical storm category by Tuesday afternoon or evening. It could potentially intensify into a typhoon by Thursday afternoon or evening.
