Nineteen vehicles were engulfed in flames at the extension parking lot of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 earlier this afternoon, April 22, 2024.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire on the parked vehicles under the intense heat of the sun.

Several eyewitnesses to the event claim that it started with a fire breaking out amongst dry grass in the vicinity.

Earlier today, the heat index in Metro Manila reached a dangerous level of 42 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
