The grant-giving ceremony was led by Congressman Ricardo Cruz, Jr. The financial assistance program is a collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Cruz urged the chosen college students to value the aid they received and to fully dedicate themselves to their studies.
"Continue to appreciate the blessings you receive, be grateful, and study well. I pray for your success," said Cruz.
The beneficiaries of the SMART Grant expressed their gratitude, stating that the assistance greatly helps their financial woes and allows them to now focus more on their studies.
