Seven hundred and thirty-nine (739) individuals from 209 families were affected by a fire in Ato Side and Sitio Pinaglabanan, AFPOVAI, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City yesterday, June 13, 2026.
The displaced individuals were brought to three evacuation areas, according to Barangay Western Bicutan Administrator Matt Bermas, in an interview with Taguig.com.
There are families staying at Sitio Kaunlaran Chapel, Sitio Pinaglabanan Chapel, and the Sitio Pagkakaisa Multi Purpose.
The affected individuals range in age from infants to senior citizens. No fatalities or injuries were reported from the fire.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano has already visited the evacuation areas to personally assess the situation of the displaced individuals and to provide assistance.
The fire started at 9:37 AM and was fully extinguished by just past 3:00 PM, according to Bermas.
The Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Air Force, Philippine National Police, Taguig barangay fire brigades, and fire units from neighboring cities including Pasig, Pateros, Pasay, Parañaque, Mandaluyong, and Manila, all contributed to firefighting efforts.
"Our Barangay Government and the City Government of Taguig are in the process of providing immediate assistance to the families affected by the fire," stated Barangay Western Bicutan on their social media page.
