The eGovPH app can now show the lowest prices for your prescribed medications.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), once the app is downloaded onto a mobile phone, it becomes easier to follow steps on accessing the Drug Price Watch feature using the eGovPH app.

"You can now find the price of the medication you need, as well as its generic equivalent-you can save up to 90% as it's priced lower but it's as effective as branded medicines," the DOH stated.

The DOH promotes the use of generic medicines in line with the mandate of the Universal Health Care Law, which strengthens Filipino access to affordable and quality medication.

This is also supported by the Generics Act of 1988.

The DOH reminded the public of the importance of following the doctor's prescription and regularly taking maintenance medicines to prevent the worsening of illnesses.
