This was revealed by personnel from Meralco who were repairing the burnt electrical wires on Acacia St., Barangay Pembo, Taguig, earlier in June.

Electricity was restored this morning after Pembo Fire and Rescue promptly reported the incident to Meralco, according to Councillor Dexter Miranda who was interviewed by Taguig.com.

"We arrived on scene to find that the burning section had already been extinguished with a fire extinguisher, so the disaster was quickly averted. The remaining chemicals from the extinguisher have also been cleaned up," said the Pembo Fire and Rescue Brigade.

"Upon inspection by Meralco, one of the main reasons identified for the experienced fluctuation or poor flow of electricity is due to improper bundling and overloading of wires, which often causes electrical fires," added the Pembo Fire and Rescue Brigade.

Meralco further stated that if wires are improperly or illegally connected, it becomes dangerous.

There have been several incidents of electrical fires in Barangay Pembo recently that were quickly responded to by Pembo Fire and Rescue and Meralco.

The Pembo Fire and Rescue Brigade also expressed their gratitude to the alert residents.

They reminded that in case of an emergency, they can be reached at 0917-127-6214.
