Eight locations across the country will experience extreme heat today, Sunday, April 14, reaching up to 43 degrees Celsius.
Taguig and the entirety of Metro Manila will experience temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius today.
According to the latest heat index forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the following locations will experience temperatures from 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.
Palawan will be the hottest, reaching 43 degrees Celsius:
* Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - 43 degrees Celsius
* Aborlan, Palawan - 43 degrees Celsius
The following locations will reach a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius:
* Dagupan City, Pangasinan - 42 degrees Celsius
* Aparri, Cagayan - 42 degrees Celsius
* Tuguegarao, Cagayan - 42 degrees Celsius
* Dumangas, Iloilo - 42 degrees Celsius
* Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur - 42 degrees Celsius
* Cotabato City, Maguindanao - 42 degrees Celsius
This heat can be dangerous and it is necessary for residents, both young and old, to drink plenty of water, seek shade, and avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.
People may experience heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke under such dangerous heat conditions.
