Eala can also expect to receive £300,000 or approximately ₱23 to ₱24 million in prize money following her upset victory over Świątek, with scores of 7-6 and 6-2.
Eala is set to face Italy's World Number 13, Jasmine Paolini, in her next match, where the winner will proceed to the quarterfinals.
In an interview, Eala expressed the significance of her victory against Świątek.
"Maybe for someone like Iga who has won so many slams, or maybe someone like Serena or Venus, this achievement may seem small, but for someone who grew up in the Philippines...you know, I went to train with my brother and my grandfather every day after school with my ruffled socks and my light-up shoes and chubby cheeks. So, to her this is everything."
Eala had also defeated Świątek in the Miami Open in 2025.
