Violators who are caught with excessively loud vehicle exhaust in Taguig City will be fined P2,500 and their vehicle will be impounded.
The Traffic Management Office (TMO) of Taguig posted that those with exhausts that are very noisy or exceed 99 decibels when the engine is revving at 2000 - 2500 rpm, may face a fine and vehicle impoundment.
The vehicle can only be redeemed if the muffler is modified or changed to comply with the rules for decibel or noise level.
Decibel is a unit of measure for how loud or soft the sound of something is.
Experts recommend a sound level that does not exceed 85 decibels as anything beyond this can be dangerous to hearing.
There are noise meter instruments or decibel meters used to measure the noise of an object.
If there are violations, it can be reported to the TMO. Call the TMO Landline: (02) 8640-7006 or send a message at: https://web.facebook.com/tmo.taguig
