A policeman from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region IV-A and an elderly driver became involved in a heated altercation, where the policeman was seen in a video forcibly removing the driver from his vehicle following a collision in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City yesterday noon, June 2, 2026.

In a statement released by the Taguig City Police Station, they acknowledged the circulating video of the vehicle collision that sparked tension at the corner of MLQ Avenue and Mauling Creek, Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City.

Based on statements gathered from those involved in the incident and the CCTV footage, it was determined that the police officer's and the elderly man's vehicles collided.

It is reported that the police officer and the staff of Barangay Bagumbayan assisted in controlling the traffic, and the elderly man's driver's license was requested as standard procedure.

The elderly man allegedly attempted to leave the scene, leading the police officer to intercept him and extract him from his vehicle.

"Notwithstanding these circumstances, this Office will refer the matter to the Police Regional Office 4A for appropriate administrative evaluation and action regarding the officer's conduct during the incident," assured the Taguig City Police.

The police officer and the driver have agreed on the damages to their respective vehicles, and neither party is expected to file a complaint against the other.

The Taguig City Police Station also assured that they are professionals ready to hold anyone accountable for their actions, ensuring an equal response to all incidents.
