In addition, the passport of the 57-year-old Italian, Stefano Todeschini, has been expired since 2017.

Todeschini was arrested by the BI Fugitive Search Unit in Lahug, Cebu City on April 5, 2024.

It was revealed that Todeschini fled his country after a court in Vicenza, Italy, issued a warrant of arrest against him in a case of child abuse.

"Todeschini was reportedly charged before the said court for rape and sexual assault against a minor in violation of the Italian Penal Code. Prosecutors alleged that Todeschini committed the crimes against a 10-year-old girl on multiple occasions."

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a red notice against Todeschini and a mission order has been released by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingo for the immediate arrest and deportation of the Italian, based on the request of the Italian Embassy in Manila.

Todeschini is also an undocumented alien since his Italian Passport expired in May 2017.

"This should serve as another warning to foreign criminals that the long arm of the law will catch them wherever they might hide," said Tansingo.
