A 36-year-old man, caught with a gun in hand and a grenade in his pocket, was arrested by the Taguig City Police in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City in the early hours of July 7, 2026.

Around 4:50 in the morning, police from the Taguig Sub-station 2 spotted the suspect, known by the alias Marc, at the corner of C5 Access Road and PNR Site, examining a gun.

The patrolling officers approached and asked Marc for documents related to his firearm.

The suspect was unable to provide any license for the gun, leading to his immediate arrest. A search revealed a hand grenade in the pocket of his shorts.

Confiscated from "Marc" was a Taurus PT92 AFS caliber 9mm pistol without a serial number, a magazine, three 9mm bullets, and a grenade marked "RFX55."

The alias Marc will be charged with violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9516, for illegal possession of explosives.

The confiscated firearm is currently undergoing ballistic examination and verification to determine if it was used in any crime.
