This marks the fourth year that Taguig City has hosted the Meeting of Styles Philippines, which is now in its 13th year.

This notable street art event brings together artists with diverse styles and art backgrounds to create large-scale works of art.

As part of the 439th founding anniversary of Taguig, the role of urban art in strengthening community bonds was highlighted.

The event kicked off yesterday with a ceremony led by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, who spray painted an art wall.

"Art can inspire us. Art can give us hope, especially in trying times. In a time of crisis, it is important that we find inspiration and come together - art helps bring people closer and promotes peace," Cayetano stated.

Local organizer Tripp Martinez says Taguig City's support for street art is a positive step.

"Before, graffiti was often seen negatively. Now, with the support of the city, we're able to create platforms like this. We're proud to bring in international artists and showcase Filipino talent on the global stage," said Martinez.
