Meralco announced in their advisory that in response to the directive from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), due to the energy crisis caused by tensions in the Middle East, their customers will be given a payment respite.
However, the accumulated debt must still be paid three months after the three-month payment break.
Customers may also secure an installment arrangement if they inform Meralco.
The suspension of electricity disconnection is automatic for three months, or from May to July 2026, if consumers of 200kwh or less are unable to pay.
However, for those applying for an installment of the accumulated three-month electricity debt, they need to communicate with Meralco through the following:
• Email: [email protected]
* Facebook Messenger: Meralco official page
* 24/7 Hotline: (02) 16211
* Any Meralco Business Center
"This will not change the total amount of your bill. The suspension of disconnection means that services will not be disconnected even if there are unpaid balances for May, June, and July 2026 service bills. For the 3-month installment option, the bill amount will be divided into three monthly payments to help make payment more manageable," Meralco explained.
The 3-month installment payment is only for electricity used in May, June, and July 2026.
Check the monthly kwh consumption on the top left part of the bill to find out if you qualify for this program.
If the installment payment cannot be met or if a payment is missed, the installment arrangement can be cancelled and the customer will need to pay the total balance.
Once disconnection activities resume and the balance remains unpaid, the customer's service may be disconnected.
