During a press conference at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, this morning, March 3, 2026, Ambassador Kursh stated that she does not foresee the Philippines getting dragged into the Middle East conflict, or being targeted simply because U.S. forces are conducting military exercises here.

Her belief is also founded on the very statement made by Defense Secretary Eduardo AƱo that the Middle East's tension poses no direct threat to the Philippines.

"I will rely on your experts, and the DND and NSA (National Security Agency) are the experts, and they're very clear in their statements," Ambassador Kursh said.

The Ambassador further stated that she hopes the position of Israel can be understood - that it finds itself in a complex situation and only wishes to protect its country.
