Forty-five children from Taguig daycare centers were taught basic knowledge about planting. The young ones also harvested fruits and vegetables from the urban garden and were educated about the nutritional benefits of their harvest.

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, herself an avid gardener, led the planting instruction for the children and emphasized the importance of using city spaces for planting with recyclable materials.

"Even though we are in Metro Manila, I want us to learn to plant. We don't need large spaces to plant, all we need are small spaces and recyclable materials," according to Cayetano.

The children took home their collected fruits and vegetables in baskets.
