The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is causing intermittent heavy rains in Metro Manila and various provinces in Luzon.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns of the potential for sporadic heavy rains in the coming hours in the following areas:
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKARGEN, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, and Batanes.
These areas may experience sudden flooding and landslides.
Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area was spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2:00 PM today, July 8, 2025.
However, it has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
