Following a slew of criminal activities targeting both local and foreign employees of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO), the Taguig City Police have ensured they are prepared for any eventuality after activating their "Oplan React POGO" or "Repress Acts of Criminals Targeting POGO."

The Taguig City Police have stated that they are coordinating with local government units, the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region, the Bureau of Immigration, PAGCOR, and other law enforcement agencies to address security issues related to POGOs.

Last year, a 33-year-old Vietnamese identified as Hong Puc Le was arrested in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) after it was discovered that his bank account was used to receive a ransom of P560,000 for the kidnapped and murdered Filipino-Chinese businessman, Mario Sy Uy.

Chinese nationals Bei Huimin, 30; Jielong Shen, 26, and Sun XiaoHui, 26, were also arrested in Parañaque where the ransom money was withdrawn.

This crime is said to be related to syndicates revolving around POGOs. Three additional Chinese individuals were also arrested.
