A student from Taguig Integrated School was among the 22 Filipino pupils honored by the International Mathematics Assessment for Schools (IMAS) for securing a medal at the 2024 IMAS, organized by the Chiu Chang Mathematics Education Foundation based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Silver medallist Samantha Casey Mallari from Taguig Integrated School was awarded in a ceremony held at the Philippine Cultural College in Manila on February 15, 2025.

Joining Mallari as silver medalists were Liam Reign Chuco from New Life Christian Academy, and Nathan Gabriel Neria from Grace Christian College.

The gold medallists were Nathan Gohok from New Life Christian Academy, Heal Job Esio from Pangasinan Universal Institute, and Shaun Lawrence Poh Leung from St. Stephen's High School.

The bronze medalists who were honored included Anne Dorothy Madrazo from Timoteo Paez Elementary School, Alistair Ivan Siohingco from St. Jude Catholic School, Alexandra Mierielle Benigay from Peniel Integrated Christian Academy, Sabrina Louis Cheong from Zamboanga Chong Hua High School, Heintl Esio from Pangasinan Universal Institute, Ethan Liam Go from St. Jude Catholic School, Wyumi Gianina Ng from Grace Christian College, Albert Steven Tan from St. Jude Catholic School, Annette Tiffany Yu from St. John's Institute, Andrew Lorenz Cabigon from Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, Jayden Andrew Cobiankat from Grace Christian College, Ian Gabriel Hong from Pace Academy, Jarod Cobe Ng, Wynshanelle Ng and Janelle Caryl Ng from Grace Christian College, and Faith Caitlin Ng from MGC New Life Christian Academy.

Dr. Simon Chua, Head of the Mathematics Trainers' Guild Phils. (MTG), stated that the first and second rounds of the 2025 competition will be conducted on March 8 and April 5, 2025.

According to MTG, the correspondence-type contest aims to "test middle primary, upper primary and junior secondary school learners' achievements in math problem solving, serve as a guide paper for students who wish to improve their skills in the field and challenge their abilities to broaden their mathematical scope."

The annual awards are organized by the IMAS Executive Council, led by Prof. Sun Wen-Hsien of Taiwan and Dr. Zhu Hua Wei of China as vice chairman.
