Taguig City University's Student Theater Artists Repertory (TCU-STAR) was recently hailed as the Best Play 2026 winner at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts' (NCCA) Act Avenue Festival 2026, held in Intramuros, Manila.
The group triumphed with its original production, "Pluma't Itak."
Twenty-two competitors from various colleges and universities across the country participated in the festival.
TCU-STAR also received nominations for Best Actor with Bobby Alba Jr. (Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management) for his portrayal of Andres Bonifacio, Best Actress for Nicole Jane Doronio (Bachelor in Public Administration) for her performance as "Inang Bayan," and Best Director for Paul Jake Paule.
"The recognition marks a milestone achievement for TCU-STAR in its participation in a national theater competition and highlights the artistic quality of its production," said a statement from TCU.
