The previous low-pressure area east of Mindanao has now fully developed into a typhoon, named Ada.
In the most recent report from PAGASA at 10:00 am, January 14, 2026, Tropical Depression Ada is located 460 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It carries winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts up to 55 kilometers per hour.
It is moving west-northwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. Its strong winds cover a radius of 500 kilometers from the center.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 has been raised in:
•Luzon: Sorsogon, and southeastern Albay (Rapu-Rapu, Manito, Legazpi City)
•Visayas: Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar
•Mindanao: Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur
Typhoon Ada will move towards the northwest in the next three days. It may pass over or make landfall in Eastern Visayas on Friday, January 16, or early Saturday morning, January 17.
Following this, it is estimated that the typhoon will pass close by or make landfall in Catanduanes on Saturday or Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Afterward, it may develop into a Tropical Storm as Typhoon Ada moves north-northeast into the waters east of Luzon.
