As of 4:00 PM yesterday, Typhoon Quedan was approximately 1,370 kilometers northeast of the northernmost tip of Northern Luzon.
The typhoon carries wind speeds of 75 kilometers per hour with gusts reaching 90 kilometers per hour and is predicted to intensify as it approaches Japan.
The current heavy winds and rain in Northern Luzon are due to southwesterlies, a low-pressure area, and the northeasterly windflow.
