The Southwest Monsoon, intensified by the exiting Typhoon Nando and the incoming Typhoon Opong, is currently causing heavy rainfall in the following areas: Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Sarangani, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Tomorrow, September 25, 2025, heavy rain is expected in the following areas: Ilocos Region, Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Zambales, Bataan, Zamboanga del Norte, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Southwest Monsoon will bring rain to the following areas: Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Waves will reach up to 3 meters high along the eastern coast of Northern Samar and the Dinagat Islands; as well as the north and east coast of Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, waves will reach up to 2.5 meters high along the eastern coast of Catanduanes and Davao Oriental; and along the northern coast of Northern Samar.

Typhoon Opong is expected to intensify further while over the Philippine Sea and may reach typhoon category before making landfall in the Bicol Region. Its strength will diminish as it crosses the Philippines. However, it may intensify again once it is over the West Philippine Sea.
