Former senator and the richest man in the country, Manuel "Manny Villar," aims to establish a new central business district that is ten times larger than Bonifacio Global City.
The 3,500-hectare land, named Villar City, encompasses 15 cities including Taguig, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Bacoor, Dasmarinas, Imus, San Pedro, General Mariano Alvarez, Silang, General Trias, Tanza, Trece Martires, Carmona, and Tagaytay.
Villar City is designed to be the hub of livelihood and lifestyle in Metro Manila, according to Villar. (See the proposed design of Villar City)
Recently, the 6.2-kilometer road, which will be the main thoroughfare of Villar's most ambitious project, was formally opened. The business tycoon stated that the unveiling of Villar Road is a testament to their intense desire to push progress in more areas of southern Metro Manila, and Cavite and Laguna.
The ten-lane road will begin at the corner of Villar's coffee shop on Daang Hari Road, leading to UTown, which then connects to the University District of Dasmarinas City.
Additionally, a lane designated for buses or bus rapid transit will be established. The 7.9-meter wide sidewalk will be adorned with pine trees and a biking lane.
Villar stated that there will be no hindrances on the road of Villar City as all cables will be installed underground.
The road is expected to help reduce travel time from Las Piñas to parts of Bacoor and Dasmarinas in Cavite.
Villar aims to connect Metro Manila and Cavite while creating more jobs and opportunities.
