Acting Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Romando Artes announced that the number coding scheme will resume from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., although a specific date for its commencement has yet to be determined.
According to Artes, they will observe starting from November 6 if the Christmas season will affect the roads in Metro Manila.
Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are prohibited from the main roads of Metro Manila with license plate numbers ending in: 1 and 2 on Mondays; 3 and 4 on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and; 9 and 0 on Fridays.
The number coding scheme covers circumferential roads such as C1 or Recto Avenue, C2 or Quirino Avenue, C3 or Araneta Avenue, C4 or EDSA, and C5 or CP Garcia.
It is also implemented on radial roads including Roxas Boulevard or R-1, Taft Avenue or R-2, SLEX or R-3, Shaw Boulevard or R-4, Ortigas Avenue or R-5, Magsaysay Boulevard and Aurora Boulevard or R-6, Quezon Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue or R-7, A. Bonifacio Avenue or R-8, Rizal Avenue or R-9 and Road 10 or Mel Lopez Boulevard.
It also includes Alabang-Zapote Road in Las Piñas and Muntinlupa City, Samson Road and A. Mabini Street in Caloocan City, Marcos Highway and MacArthur Highway.
Not included in the number coding scheme are public utility vehicles and transport network vehicle service (TNVS), motorcycles, garbage trucks, fuel trucks, registered and marked government vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, marked media vehicles, those carrying essential and perishable goods or food, and electric and hybrid vehicles.
