Fifty couples from various barangays of Taguig City were married at the City's Mass Wedding held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Lakeshore Hall in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
The free Mass Wedding, organized by the City Civil Registry Office, provided an opportunity for long-term partners to formally acknowledge their marital status.
The oldest couple to be wed were 63-year-old Myrna Lubo and her 46-year-old partner Joseph Lubo from Barangay Pinagsama.
The longest cohabiting couple before their marriage were Juanito and Bernadette Mendija of Barangay Cembo, who have been together for 31 years.
Recognition was also given to the Best-Dressed Couple, Servillano and Nellie De Guzman from Barangay Bagumbayan.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano reminded the newlyweds that marriage is a lifelong promise of love and should always be accompanied by prayer and trust.
"I hope you didn't just think about this decision, but also prayed for it earnestly. A marriage is not for a few months or years, but a commitment to each other as long as you live," said Cayetano.
Also present at the Mass Wedding were Taguig City Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, First District Representative Ricardo "Ading" Cruz Jr., and Second District Representative Jorge Daniel Bocobo.
