An art exhibit showcasing creations by children with learning disabilities was held at the Taguig Yakap Center in Barangay Calzada Tipas on July 2, 2025.
As part of the 3-day observation of Learning Disability Week, the City Government of Taguig facilitated art lessons for children and featured their work in an exhibit titled "Unleash Creativity, Express Yourself Through Art."
"The exhibit featured paintings and drawings by children and youth with learning disabilities, providing them a platform to share their thoughts, emotions, and individuality through visual storytelling," the City Government of Taguig stated.
The celebration of Learning Disability Week 2025 began on June 27, 2025.
The art workshop was led by Taguig local artist Nemo Aguila, where children were taught to paint using watercolor and poster paint.
The participants were students from the Early Intervention, Transition, Pre-vocational, and Deaf/Hard of Hearing programs.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano attended the exhibit and praised the children's creativity.
"Art has the ability to deliver a message and affect a person-to calm, to inspire. Art has the power to heal. Art is healing," Mayor Cayetano expressed.
"I'm just so, so happy. If to others' eyes the children who participated today have disabilities, what we see is their exceptional talent," she concluded.
