A Cambodian national, wanted in China, was intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on March 21, 2024 after arriving in the country from Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The 35-year-old man, Bai Longhao, is on Interpol's list for his involvement in cybercrime.

According to BI-Interpol Acting Chief Jaime Bustamante, Bai is accused of "assisting in information network crimes," the charges levied against him in China.

The public security bureau in Jian, Jilin province issued an arrest warrant against him after he served as a financial payment and settlement service for several syndicates involved in telecommunications fraud from April 2021 to March 2023.

Bai and his syndicate partner are believed to have made around 20 million yuan or US$2.7 million, which authorities believe was laundered in Cambodia.

Bai was immediately blacklisted by the BI.
