The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is set to assist eligible non-plantilla government workers in passing the Civil Service Exam (CSE) by offering additional points to their final test scores.

According to CSC chairman Karlo Nograles, non-plantilla government workers who have served ten years or more may apply for the Career Service Eligibility - Preference Rating (CSE-PR) to obtain an additional ten points on their final test score, provided their initial score is between seventy and seventy-nine point ninety-nine percent, which is considered a failing grade.

A passing score in the CSE is eighty percent. The CSE is an examination conducted for workers to secure permanent positions within the government.

This move follows an order by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., directing the Department of Budget and Management, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Commission on Audit, and CSC to further enhance the skills and talents of service contract and job order workers in the government.

The CSC stated that they recognize the dedication and skills of government employees who have served for several years, but lack the necessary civil service eligibility, thus preventing them from securing permanent positions in the government.

The CSE-PR covers JO, COS, Casual, Contractual, and Coterminous employees, those in Category III and Category IV positions, and Career service employees with first-level eligibility.
