Ensure that your cats and dogs are vaccinated and never leave young children alone with pets.

It is also necessary to ensure that pets do not freely exit the house as there is no guarantee that they are safe from animals with rabies outside the home.

Dogs and cats should be given an anti-rabies vaccine every year or every three years.

The Office of the City Veterinarian in Taguig City said that they can be visited at their office at #4 Model House C6 Road CDRRMO Compound Purok 1 Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City during office hours if they want their pets to be vaccinated against rabies or call 0961.704.4743

Meanwhile, those bitten or scratched by dogs and cats, even with vaccinated animals, need to go to the nearest Health Center or Animal Bite Center to receive the appropriate anti-rabies and anti-tetanus injections.

Taguig residents have free consultations at the city's health and animal bite centers, and there are Consulta Clinics in partnership with PhilHealth.
