The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued a reminder to users of electric bicycles (e-bikes) and electric tricycles (e-trikes), as well as carts, pedicabs, kuligligs, and other light electric vehicles, that they will no longer be allowed on major roads from the 15th of April.

Small electric vehicles will no longer be permitted to travel on the following roads: Recto Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Araneta Avenue, Epifanio delos Santos Avenue, Katipunan/C.P. Garcia Avenue, Southeast Metro Manila Expressway, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, Osmeña Highway or South Super Highway, Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue, Magsaysay Boulevard/Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue/Commonwealth Avenue, A. Bonifacio Avenue, Rizal Avenue, Delpan Street/Marcos Highway/McArthur Highway, Elliptical Road, Mindanao Avenue, Marcos Highway, Boni Avenue, España Boulevard, and other roads to be announced by the MMDA in the coming days.

Those who violate the order will be fined P2,500.

In Taguig City, the ban on e-trikes, motorized tricycles, pedicabs, and other light vehicles on the national roads of C5 Road, C6 Road, and Kalayaan Avenue has been in effect since February.

The order aims to prevent accidents and ease the flow of traffic on the main roads of Taguig City.
