Having marked the end of Ramadan, today, April 10, 2024, is set for the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr following the sighting of the crescent moon.

Mosques in Taguig City are prepared for Muslim worshippers who will participate in Salah or prayers around six in the morning.

"Eid Al-Fitr is the culmination of our 30 days of fasting in the Muslim world. So we are happy to celebrate it. There is unity, harmony, and camaraderie," said Ebra Moxir, president of the Imam Council of the Philippines.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has declared April 10, 2024 as a regular national holiday to elevate the religious and cultural significance of Eid Al-Fitr.

Eid Al-Fitr is a special time for Muslims, following a month of fasting during Ramadan.

Now that Ramadan has ended, in addition to a time of prayer, there are also feasts and gift-giving.
