Senator Alan Peter Cayetano has accepted the installation of the new majority in the Senate and the election of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian as the new Senate President.
In a post on his personal social media page, Cayetano stated that his position in the Senate is not what's important to him, but rather revealing the truth about the funding for flood control.
"That is the fight that began all of this - one side wanted to bring it out, the other was desperate to keep it covered. And it is a fight that we intend to continue, no title or position required," Cayetano said.

Cayetano also praised what he said was the deep personal sacrifice of Senator Jinggoy Estrada and his family for standing firm.
Similarly, he acknowledged Senator Dante Marcoleta's refusal to be intimidated, especially by threats of arrest.
He said he also understands the decision made by Senator Joel Villanueva to switch to the opposing camp.
Cayetano said that there's a lot of work waiting in the Senate and he is one of the main supporters of these tasks, such as proposals to help Mindanao recover from a strong earthquake.
