In a statement, the Southern Police District (SPD) stated that, upon learning of the incident, they immediately relieved the police officer to ensure fair and thorough investigation into his case.

An administrative investigation against the officer has also been initiated to determine if he violated the regulations of the Philippine National Police.

The officer has likewise been charged with an appropriate criminal complaint.

"The Southern Police District continues to coordinate with the victim's family and remains committed to providing the necessary assistance within its mandate while ensuring that the rights of all parties are respected," SPD stated.

Police Brigadier General Glenn Oliver Cinco, District Director of the SPD, assured that any form of misconduct, abuse, and disrespect towards the rights and dignity of individuals, especially children, will not be condoned.

In light of this, the public has appealed to the SPD to let justice take its course. The SPD also assures fairness and equality for all.
