Nevertheless, traffic enforcers are stationed in the area to help manage the flow of traffic despite the ongoing work on Bagong Calzada.
The project is part of the flood mitigation program of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Work is underway on a new drainage system, road restoration such as asphalt laying, and other methods to prevent flooding in the area.
The project began on March 25, 2025 and is expected to be completed by March 13, 2026.
As a result, a traffic scheme for motorists has been implemented.
Bagong Calzada Road, from Cayetano Boulevard to F. Manalo Street, has been temporarily closed.
The remaining open section of Bagong Calzada from F. Manalo St. to Cayetano Blvd. is one-way.
Vehicles coming from Sta. Ana Church going to Vista Mall or Cayetano Blvd. can take the route: F. Manalo St. → Gen. Luna St. → Cayetano Blvd.
