A house in Barangay Central Bicutan, Taguig City went up in flames on the night of April 25, 2024.

Subsequently, a utility pole in the vicinity caught fire, causing an overnight power outage.

In an interview with Taguig.com, Alert 17 from the A.L.E.R.T Team (fire volunteers) of Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, the fire at Block 146, Lots 3 and 5 Contreras Street, Barangay Central Bicutan was reported at 7:17 PM.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, two families lived in the house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The fire was under control by 7:59 PM and was fully extinguished by 8:22 PM, based on the BFP report.

Subsequent to the house fire, an electricity pole on Cristobal Street, Barangay Central Bicutan, near Gabby's School, exploded.

Baby Michael informed Taguig.com that their street had been without electricity from the night of April 25 until the afternoon of April 26.

Meralco staff arrived at the site on the morning of April 26 to replace the burned wires.

Based on initial reports, overloading or excessive electricity usage was the cause of the electricity pole explosion on Cristobal Street.
