Taguig City Government has currently deployed 564 uniformed security personnel from BEST Guards and 512 Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) Guards to 52 public schools in Taguig City.
This is to support the police force and other Barangay Security Forces in overseeing the schools, particularly at the start and end of classes.
This move follows a meeting conducted by the Taguig City Government, led by Mayor Mani Cayetano, Department of Education - Taguig and Pateros, Taguig City Police Chief Col. Julius Añonuevo, and Liga ng mga Barangay President Marie Marcelino on June 25 and 30, 2026.
The aim is to ensure a smooth and peaceful situation in schools, in line with the implementation of DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, or the "Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment."
The meeting also discussed the improved safety and security protocols to unify responses in emergencies, crime prevention, and community watch in schools.
