The Klyuchevskoy volcano on the Kamchatka peninsula of Russia erupted just hours after a strong 8.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in the same region.

Lava emerged from the largest active volcano in the northern hemisphere.
According to a description by the Russian Academy of Sciences - United Geophysical Service: "a descent of burning hot lava is observed on the western slope. Powerful glow above the volcano, explosions."
The Klyuchevskoy volcano, standing at a height of 4,750 meters (15,584 feet), has been under observation for a long time due to its activity.
The volcano last erupted in 2023.
