Only twenty-four percent of Filipino scam victims reported their experience to authorities, according to the report released at the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC)-AiSP-WiSAP Cybersecurity Forum in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City on April 10, 2024.

Vietnam also has a low reporting rate for scams happening within their borders, with only 26% of victims reporting them, followed by Korea at 31.6%.

In contrast, the countries with high online scam reporting rates are China, at 55%, and Singapore, at 51.5%.

Scam Watch Philippines Lead Convenor Jocel de Guzman said that the public should report online scammers to the authorities or call the 1326 Inter-Agency Response Center hotline.
