The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) has transitioned to a cashless payment system, having launched the system on July 13, 2026.
Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cardholders, users of NFC-enabled mobile and wearable devices, as well as those with GCash QR codes can now utilize these methods for payments at any LRT-2 station.
This follows the implementation of digital payments on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) last year.
The Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) is also offering a PISO Fare Cashback Promo from July 13 to July 31 for RCBC debit and credit cardholders, as well as MySSS RCBC Diskartech debit cardholders.
When these cardholders use their cards to pay at LRT-2 turnstiles, the regular fare will be initially deducted upon tap, and the excess over ₱1 will be returned to their account within 3 banking days.
